Librarians will be giving out a new CNY song arranged by Mr Sukit.
We will be playing these 2 songs for Chinese New Year celebration.

TO: THOSE WHO HAD JUST JOINED US
HANDLE ALL INSTRUMENTS WITH CARE!!!
Inform your Section Leader if you cannot make it for any of the practices.
Give your Section Leader your MCs or parents' letter on the next Band Prac.
Register with the Instrument Quarters if you want to borrow your instrument.
On school days, return your instrument to the Band Room before morning assembly.
You're not allowed to leave your instrument in class.

IN THE BAND ROOM,
No food and sweet drinks allowed. Only plain or mineral water.
Keep the room clean at all times.
Return Store Room's keys straight away after use.
Do not misuse the keyboard.
If you're not a percussionist,
DO NOT play with the percussion instruments without permission from the Percussion Head.
BAND ROOM- only for BAND MEMBERS, Teachers-in-charge, Conductors, Tutors and Alumni.

DURING COMBINE PRACTICES,
Silence must be observed when conductor is conducting.
No usage of handphones.
Ask permission from conductor before leaving the band room.
Have a pencil with you.
While playing, sit up straight, 1/4 chair, feet flat on the floor.

DURING SECTIONALS,
it's the time for you to Self-practise as a Section and NOT Slack as a Section.
Make use of the time given for Sectionals wisely.
Do not leave your instrument unattended.
Practise those you don't know and not what you know.

DURING DRILLS,
Discipline is a must when you're in a contingent.
Empty your pockets and remove all accessories on wrist.
Do not fidget.
Ask for permission to fall out if not feeling well.
Drink enough water.

ATTIRE,
no slippers and home clothes allowed.

CHINESE NEW YEAR PERFORMANCE
There'll be a CNY item coming up for us.
Will be playing some chinese songs.
Deciding on the attire soon.
16th Feb'07 is the day. It's a Friday.

Getting along with set and choice piece.
Juniors had joined our family.
Some activities coming up next month.
Specially for the juniors to know us better.
Finally, preparation for Festspiel.
More new and nice songs for you guys to sight read.

Mus' art will be having a concert on 3rd feb,sat,7.30pm, at victorial concert hall.
$10 for stall seats and $12 for circle seats.
It will be good to go as they will be combining with 6 other sch bands during the first half of the concert to play their choice piece.

WELCOMED THE SEC ONES
HELLO SEC ONES!!!
Today is an eventful day for WHITLEY CONCERT BAND!!!
It's our "showcase" day!
Everything went quite smoothly.
Credits to ALL WHILTEY BAND MEMBERS, FACILITATORS, STATION MASTERS,
ALL SEC ONES who came today, and of course ME!!! =)
It's a tiring day, so rest well and take care ya.

Phil Winds is having a concert on the 21st this month at ESPLANADE!!!
Tickets at $12 each. We'll be able to get a discount of 20% if we purchase more then 20 tickets.
Students are able to get further subsidies.

TERM 1 SCHEDULE

This is the band schedule for term 1.
It is quite blur,so click it to have a clearer view of it.
Those who did not receive it,pls take it from fiona.
As for the overnight stay last year,those who did not write what you want to achieve in the coloured paper,pls take a coloured paper from me.
With so many events ahead,we really got to get into syf mood and prac hard.
Less noise,less talking.
Listen when the conductor is teaching other sections,esp if you have the same part.
Remember, getting a _________ (censored) is whitley concert band's goal.
Lets all work towards our goal!
We can do it!
Lastly,Sec 1s will be coming for band prac on tues,16th jan.Pls be there and fall in by 2.30pm with everything prepared,your instruments,files etc.

Chinese New Year performance is on 16th Feb 2007.
And we'll be playing 2 songs.

We'll will also be taking part in the Balloon Hat Festival this year.
Which is around 1st week of June.

Be prepared for more outdoor performances.
To build up enough courage for SYF!!!

1) Submit the name and tee shirt size of your members to Wardrobe Master.
2) Collect band funds from your members, and pass it to the Treasurer.

GET MOTIVATED!!!
Today, whitley concert band seems to be very excited.
Everybody's yakking NON-STOP!!
And it really irritates me. -_-
Hope that i'll not see any of these behaviour in band room in future.
I'm really glad with those devoted members but real upset with irregular members!!!
It's SYF a few months later and I'm still getting all these nonsense.
I'm sure you guys knows what our goal is for SYF but at this rate we're going now, it's hard to get far.
Get serious!!! SYF is no laughing matter!!!
For those who have read this message, I really hope that you can pull up your socks and together we'll work towards our goal as one WHITLEY CONCERT BAND.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
There's band on 6th jan,sat,from 8.30am to 12.30am.
For those who went for the kl trip, certificates will be given out on 8th jan , mon.
Remember to line up near the flag post during assembly.
Band Practices will be on every Tuesday and Thursday , 2.30pm-5.30pm, and Saturday , 8.30am-12.30am.

CCA ORIENTATION
It's two thousand and seven and we've started it great!
With much effort, we managed to collect 56 completed registration forms.
THANK YOU, to those who've helped out in a way or another during the orientation.
It's a great sight seeing all the band memebers trying their very best to advertise their instruments and trying to get the Sec Ones to the registration booth.
The unity in whitley concert band when everybody is putting in their best effort to make the orientation runs smoothly.
The success we felt when big jon praises us for doing a great job.
The joyfulness in our hearts when we knew that we've done our best.
Without everyone helping, all these would be impossible.
THANK YOU whitley concert band!!Today proves that nothing is impossible!
Thus, we should come together and strive for the best in everything we do.
